UEC Family Day 2017

The UEC Family Day 2017 takes place on Saturday 30th September 2017 at Rayleigh Evangelical Church.  Full details are available in the leaflet, and the booking form is below.

Welcome from the UEC Chairman: Brian Wood

My congratulations to the Promotions Committee  for  a programme that offers something to interest everyone.

Book the date NOW and help make it a great success!

Programme for the day

The Family Day begins at 10.00am and is centred around three workshop slots. There are lots of different subjects on offer, and a detailed list is available in the leaflet. We will join together for a buffet lunch before continuing with our afternoon session, which culminates in a time of joint closing worship.  The most popular workshops are being repeated to give you time to attend as many of your favourite choices as possible.

Guest Speaker: Tim Dieppe

Our guest speaker this year is Tim Dieppe. Tim is Head of Public Policy at Christian Concern which he joined in 2016. Tim’s special interest is in Islamic affairs. This interest developed after the 2001 attacks which prompted him to study the nature of Islam, including sharia finance.  Christian Concern publications, literature and resources will be available on the day, hosted by Regan King.

UEC Faith Matters 2017

We are running a series of training days, as in previous years, to equip local Church members and ensure that they have good quality and relevant Bible teaching from experts in their fields, using interactive presentation styles.

Saturday 4 November 2017 – ‘Why should we care for God’s creation?’ (Green Christian)

Simon Court works with children who do not attend school regularly, and is a Church Warden at his local parish Church. Lisa Goddard is originally from the West Indies and is an academic in the field of Science and Theology. Simon Goddard has a regional ministry with oversight of Baptist churches in Suffolk, South Cambridgeshire and North Essex.

All are members of Green Christian, a national organisation which links the gospel of salvation with our responsibilities for the environment. They are ready to address the so relevant question: “Why should we care for God’s creation?”

All sessions run from 9.45am to 1.00pm and there is a suggested donation of £6 to cover expenses and refreshments.

All training days will take place at Rayleigh Evangelical Church, Eastwood Road, Rayleigh, SS6 7JQ. Free parking is available.

Prayer Meetings 2017

The UEC arranges a number of prayer meetings around the region throughout the year.  Future dates are:

  • Tuesday 18th March 2017 – 7.30pm – Great Wakering
  • Wednesday 28th June 2017 – Strawberry Tea at 6.30pm followed by Prayer at 7.30pm – Cressing

Each year the UEC sets aside a week to specifically pray about the future direction of our Church family and the individual challenges that Churches are facing. The 2017 Week of Prayer is from 21st to 28th May.

The UEC publishes ‘Prayer Focus’, a booklet full of items to give thanks for and to pray into, to assist individuals to know how best to pray.  This is published in March and September each year.
